What You Can Do

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  1. Talk to Your Doctor
  2. Talk to your doctor. Ask him not to prescribe any of the Premarin® family of drugs, and explain why. You will be amazed at just how many medical professionals, including doctors, are unaware of how these drugs are made.

Send our Patient to Doctor letter to your physician(s). You do not need to be menopausal; just care about horses and women, and also the men who take any of the Premarin family of drugs.

  3. Say No to these Drugs
  4. Menopausal Symptoms
    Premarin (pills and vaginal cream)
    Prempro
Premphase (may now be off the market)
    Prempac
    Premelle

    Osteoporosis and Menopausal Symptoms
    Aprela (awaiting FDA approval)

  5. Take an Alternative Therapy
  6. If you are currently seeking Hormone Replacement Therapy, ask your physician to prescribe one of the many safe and effective alternatives that are available. Consider this list of Alternatives. Note: Always consult your doctor before starting a new type of treatment, particularly if you have already been on another type of treatment for menopausal symptoms.

  7. Spread the Word
  8. Talk to the women in your life about hormone replacement therapy drugs (HRT) used to treat menopausal symptoms made with conjugated equine estrogens (CEE) such as Premarin, Prempro (and if approved, Wyeth’s newest HRT drug Aprela), the potential dangers of taking these drugs, and the cruelties to the mares and foals. PMU industry mares who can no longer become pregnant are routinely sent to slaughter, along with thousands of innocent foals every year.
